We
at the Turner Funeral Home and Turner-Myers Funeral Home are absolutely 'blessed' by the
gift given to us by Canine
Companions for Independence--Aragon, our Golden Retriever/Yellow
Labrador mix and our new grief counselor.
Our
own Pam Turner attended a weeklong training session after
which we were given Aragon, the first therapy dog at a funeral
home in our area. Aragon is dedicated to helping families
who have suffered a loss.

Aragon has been the subject of numerous newspaper articles
and TV spots-in fact he is quite a celebrity in Lawrence County and is welcomed and known at most public buildings and
businesses around town. In addition to his duties at the funeral
home helping families (if wanted, he sits for arrangements,
visitations, and funerals), he is a frequent visitor at the
Ellwood City Hospital, Mary Evans Extended Care Center, many
nursing homes, and has given many speeches (actually Pam gives
the speeches!) and presentations.

We completely support Canine Companions for Independence and
hope that you will donate to help provide assistance to many
of our citizens with a disability and who use wheelchairs.
We also support the Lawrence
County Humane Society, Beaver
County Humane Society, Promises
for Pets (New Castle, PA), and Animal
Friends (Pittsburgh).
Its heartwarming to see Aragon Work his magic with families,
many seemingly inconsolable. He truly is "A Miracle with
Fur." Canine Companions for Independence---"Some
People Wait a Lifetime for a Miracle, We Raise Them One at
a Time." Won't you please help us?
