Oma F. Bercher, 96 formerly of Slippery Rock Township passed away May 2nd, 2004 at 11:15 AM in the Jameson Care Center.

Oma was born July 21, 1907 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Leonidas "Lonnie" and Mary "Carter" Swords.

Oma was a retired housekeeper at the former Almira Home of New Castle as well as being a member of the First Alliance Church of New Castle.

Oma is survived by one Step-Daughter, Mardell Gruce of California as well as 4 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one Daughter, Ethel Barker; One Grandson, Jerry Barker; Three Brothers and Three Sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday- May 4th from 6 to 8 PM at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street, New Castle, PA.

Funeral services will be at 8 PM that night and conducted by the Reverend Philip R. Harrison of the First Alliance Church.

Interment wil be in the Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, PA.
